F10 Launch Studio 3 features new Application Blaster

Chronos has released F10 Launch Studio 3, the latest version of its app launch manager for OS X. This update includes improved performance and customization, 64-bit compatilbity, and a new app-launching feature called the Application Blaster.

F10 Launch Studio helps you quickly locate and launch applications and open documents. Similar to other utilities like Quicksilver or LaunchBar, F10 Launch Studio displays a search bar when you activate its keyboard shortcut, and identifies what app or file you wish to launch from just a few key strokes.

New in F10 Launch Studio 3 is the Application Blaster, which works like the application switcher built into Mac OS X that's activated by pressing Command-Tab. However, instead of simply letting you switch between applications already running—as the application switcher does—the Application Blaster lets you select new applications you want to launch.

Other new features include the ability to customize specific folders of apps that F10 Launch Studio should monitor, an improved user experience for entering hot keys, improved performance that uses less CPU when running in the background, and 64-bit compatibility.

F10 Launch Studio 3 requires Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later and costs $30. A 30-day free trial is also available from Chronos.
