Trying to picture what a wall would look like in a certain color or your favorite end table in a darker shade of stain can make your brain hurt.

Pixelate can show you what a room would look like in a different coat of paint without all of those annoying brain pains by selecting the color of the walls and replacing it with another color. You can even choose a color from an image that’s already on your phone, if you’ve snapped a picture of the perfect hue at some point, and actively paint over an image to see what different swatches might look like.

The 2.0 version updates includes a new algorithm can also adjust the colors of items beyond just walls. Now you can see what your furniture, clothing, or cars will look like in any shade or hue. Also added in version 2.0 is the ability to pan or zoom on an image after you’ve changed the color, and add photo effects to your image including sepia, gray scale, color splash and (you guessed it) pixelate. You can also now e-mail pictures from within the application.

Pixelate is available for download from the app store for $1; it requires an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad running iOS 3.0 or later.
