A software update released by Apple Tuesday promises to take on issues with displaying and printing certain OpenType fonts in Snow Leopard.

Apple recommends the 3.77MB Snow Leopard Font Update for all Mac OS X 10.6.7 users. According to its release notes, the update addresses a problem where some OpenType fonts wouldn’t display correctly in some applications. It also lets users print from Preview without further hassle. Additional fixes include an issue with PDF files not opening in third-party PDF viewing applications and invalid font errors when users tried to print to PostScript printers.

The update is available for download from Apple’s Support Downloads site as well as through Software Update.
