Everybody’s piling on the 7-inch iPad now. Bloomberg claims to have identified the makers of several pieces of technology in the rumored device, including screens from LG and AU Optronics. Clearly, nobody’s asked the key question: How many 7-inch screens does thing have?

Speaking of screens, the Journal says Sharp, which is supposedly making displays for the next iPhone, has run into a production hitch. I suppose you could say they just weren’t sharp enough.

Apple’s updated the bio for senior vice president Bob Mansfield, who the company announced earlier this week would not be retiring. The former head of hardware manufacturing is now simply a “senior vice president reporting to CEO Tim Cook.” Which is about the vaguest title I’ve seen since “cultural attaché.”

In Europe, Apple and publishers have struck a deal with EU authorities over ebooks: Apple and the publishers will continue to operate under an agency model, but Amazon and other retailers will be allowed to sell them at discount, undercutting Apple’s prices. Gee, wonder what’s going to happen there; sure is a head-scratcher.

Apple changed the color of cars, says BMW designer (Fortune)

One BMW designer said that the popularity of white cars is due to Steve Jobs’s work at Apple. So I suppose we can also lay the preponderance of grimy cars at his feet, too, huh?
