Toon Boom Animation has announced the release of Toon Boom Storyboard for Mac OS X and Windows. It costs $249.99.
The “standard” variation on the “Pro” product that’s already available, Toon Boom Storyboard is a visual storyboarding software application aimed at users creating audio visual projects. It’s suitable for storyboard artists, video makers, advertisers and game developers who would benefit from being able to see their storyline in a visual format.
The software supports bitmap and vector-based files, lets you add an unlimited number of shots and panels to your storyboard, uses customized and searchable caption fields, supports multi-layer vector drawing tools with pressure sensitivity (when used with a Wacom drawing tablet), features an integrated image template library, and lets you export your content to PDF using predefined pages.
The Pro version, which costs $899, adds a variety of other features such as motion layer and camera move animation, storyboard playback in realtime, complete timeline view, soundtrack import, the ability to transfer storyboards to video editing software, multi-layer Photoshop import and export, and more.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later, G5 or faster processor, 512MB RAM, 110MB hard disk space, ATI or Nvidia video card with 128MB VRAM, 1280 x 1024 monitor resolution. A demo version is available. A special $199.99 price is available through June 29.
