At long last, Ambrosia Software’s popular screenshot and screen recording utility has gone Universal to run natively on Intel Macs.
Snapz Pro X v2.1.0 is available for download, and is a free update for registered users of the 2.0 version. Snapz Pro costs $29 for its standard version, $69 for the version that records screen video as
Snapz Pro lets you take screenshots or full motion video of anything on your screen. It features a variety of settings; you can identify file types, quality of compression, scale, you can snap specific objects (such as menus or windows), highlight a selection or take an image of the entire screen.
Besides Universal binary support, Snapz Pro X v2.1.0 also features compatibility with the WWDC developer release of Leopard, improves performance in various situation, supports
QuickTime compression (including H.264 multipass encoding), restored the ability to “Save Later” when post-processing movie captures, and made other bug fixes and enhancements.
Snapz Pro X 2.1.0 requires
Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later.
Ambrosia also offered a teaser at what they’re working on to replace Snapz Pro.
