Punch Software has announced the release of ViaCAD 2D/3D, a design product for Mac OS X that costs $99.
ViaCAD 2D/3D is a general-purpose 2D and 3D design application that features the ability to create and modify curve, NURB surfaces and solid modeling objects. You can draft, annotate and automatically generate 2D drawings from 3D models. The software also includes a library of 26,000 symbols.
ViaCAD 2D/3D uses tha CIS modeling kernel from Spatial, and includes more than 300 different design tools like associative NURBS-based modeling with skins, covers and nets, history-based solid modeling, constant and variable radius blending and chamfering, twist, bend, boss, hole, boolean and shell features, local face editing tools for working with foreign parts, and mass properties and interface checking. ViaCAD also provides data exchange support for SketchUp, AutoCAD 2007 DXF/DWG, Illustrator and other formats.
System requirements call for a G3 or better ( Intel included), Mac OS X v10.4 or later and 2GB of hard disk space (to install all supplemental materials).
