Printing from USB PowerBooks and iBooks is the bane of traveling Mac users. On the road, your chances of finding a USB-compatible printer for which you already have the drivers installed is next to zero. Strydent Software comes to the rescue with the mobile edition of its PowerPrint USB-to-parallel adapter, which includes ready-to-use drivers for nearly any parallel-port printer. Just load the software from the CD-ROM, connect the USB-to-parallel-port cable to the printer, and you’re ready to print. The package includes a Delorme Street Atlas USA CD-ROM; a 6-foot, self-retracting phone cord; and an Ethernet crossover cable — none of which has anything to do with printing, but hey, they’re free!
