Avango has announced the release of the Portector, a handy gadget for users of Apple’s iBook consumer portable. First announced in 2001 and now shipping, the Portector is designed to prevent iBook ports from being blocked by dust and dirt.
Dirt, dust and other contaminants can collect in the bottom of a computer carrying case or backpack, and it’s possible for the data ports on the left hand side of an iBook to be blocked by such debris. Avango has developed to Portector specifically to help prevent that problem from happening.
The US$12.95 Portector is a soft urethane strip that covers those ports. The device is now available for sale and is shipping in North America; visit the Web site for further details.
