XLR8, a manufacturer of Mac multiprocessor upgrades and expansion products, announced that they’ve lowered their pricing on the MACh Speed and MACh Carrier families of G3 and G4 upgrades for Power Macs.
All XLR8 upgrade cards include XLR8’s MACh Speed Control software and are compatible with Mac OS 9 and OS X features such as QuickTime, and the Velocity Engine (also known as Altivec ). The price of the Carrier ZIF family of processor upgrades has also been lowered. The ZIF processor adapter cards allow for owners of 73xx, 75xx, 85xx, 86xx, 95xx, 96xx and Mac clones to upgrade to the fastest Motorola G4 7400 ZIF processors available.
The Carrier ZIF (the original design) has dropped from US$109 to $79. The Carrier MPe (for Mach Velocity upgrades) has dipped from $119 to $99. The Carrier SSE (for six PCI slot machines) has been lowered from $139 to $119.
