iArch Global has announced that it plans to rewrite its magazine management software, PubPro. The company will also refocus efforts on its publishing-related consulting services. iArch also said that PubPro X2 is coming in the second quarter of this year.
PubPro is a cross-platform publishing management program intended to provide magazine publishers with sales, editorial and administration assistance. Created using Filemaker Pro 5, PubPro provides automated, customized billing capabilities for both advertisers and suppliers, detailed revenue and payment tracking, an editorial network database that helps plan issues and more.
iArch Global said that PubPro X2 will gain myriad features including a full Web interface, synchronization to Palm OS-based PDAs, multiple publication tracking, multi-currency support and customizable security levels. Flat plan layouts and text export to desktop publishing apps will also be supported.
Pricing varies depending on modules chosen, but it starts with a three-user license at US$499.
The company will also offer potential purchasers to be involved in PubPro X2’s final development and feature set. If you sign up, you’ll get a 30 percent discount on the final price of the software. Check the Web site for details.
