Sharp Electronics Corp. is shipping the AR-800 Digital IMAGER, its first 80 page-per-minute (ppm) digital multifunction machine. The Mac compatible device is targeted to networked office environments.
The AR-800 offers the perks of digital technology along with the high-volume copy/printing requirements of business, Mike Pietrunti, Sharp’s vice president of Network Office Solutions Group, said in announcing the product. Its “plug and play” capability integrates with networked systems and an optional embedded print controller means the AR-800 can double as a workgroup printer.
With it, you can make documents at 600 x 2400 dots per inch (dpi). The AR-800 can tackle a monthly volume of up to 440,000 copies. Packing a standard 32MB copier memory and 3.2GB hard drive, it also has 120 access codes, confidential/secure (PIN) printing capability and a heat roller fusing system.
What’s more, with its optional embedded print controller and Network Interface Card, the AR-800 Digital IMAGER can be upgraded from a standalone copier to a networkable document distribution system.
