Apple has posted several AppleScripts to its Web site for use with its newest application, iPhoto. The scripts add additional functionality to iPhoto, making tasks like mailing photos easier. The
iPhoto Scripts can be downloaded from Apple’s Web site.
Scripts included in the download are:
Mail iPhoto Images: Drag images from the iPhoto window onto this droplet to automatically embed the images into a new message in the Mac OS X Mail application. Double-click the droplet to set preferences for: resizing the images before sending; adding a default email recipient; adding a default email subject. Show Image File: Drag an image from the iPhoto window onto this droplet to reveal its source file in the Finder. Make Audio Card: Combine the power of AppleScript, iPhoto, iTunes and QuickTime to create audio cards. Select a track in iTunes, then drag a single image from the iPhoto window onto this droplet. The two elements, the MP3 audio file and iPhoto image, will be combined in the QuickTime Player to produce a movie. Double-click the droplet to set preferences for the card width. Make Audio Slideshow: This script combines iPhoto, iTunes and QuickTime to create slideshows with background audio. Select a track in iTunes, then drag images from the iPhoto window onto this droplet. The two elements, the MP3 audio file and iPhoto image, will be combined in the QuickTime Player to produce a movie. Double-click the droplet to set preferences for the slideshow width. Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced iPhoto during his keynote speech at last week’s Macworld Expo in San Francisco.
