Miglia Technology has new additions to their family of storage products: the MediaBank and MiniBank, new FireWire Hard Drive cases that sport titanium colored aluminum shells.
MediaBank is offered as an empty 3.5-inch FireWire hard drive case and boasts an IDE to FireWire bridge that allows transfer rates of up to 35MB per second. It’s been designed with expansion in mind, as the case is shipped ready to accept one or two 3.5-inch hard drives (master/slave). The MediaBank’s case contains a shock-mounted carrier for both mechanisms and a fan. It will be available during the first quarter of the year.
Also available during this time will be an upgrade that adds a second controller to the MediaBank case, allowing a Raid level 0 or 1 configuration via software.
Miglia’s MiniBank is an empty 2.5-inch FireWire hard drive case targeted at consumers that need extra storage space while on the move. It accommodates a single 2.5-inch drive and is self-powered/connected through the FireWire Bus. It comes with a carry case that accommodates a FireWire cable and a carry strap.
Both the MediaBank and the MiniBank are compatible with Mac OS 8.6 and above, including Mac OS X. For details, go to the Miglia Web site.
