Macintosh Explorer, the file browser and file management tool from Rage Software, has been updated to version 3.0. In fact, this version is a full rewrite and works natively in Mac OS X.
Like Windows Explorer, Macintosh Explorer offers a hierarchical overview of your files and folders on all mounted drives. It includes a variety of file management tools that can be accessed while browsing your hard drives. Macintosh Explorer lets you store links to commonly used files, view invisible files as you browse, as well as customize its appearance and behavior.
Version 3.0 offers faster file browsing and additional file management tools, as well as enhancements to many of the file management tools found in previous versions. It also sports visual drag and drop feedback. Additional customization options including removing unwanted navigation buttons and choosing to use large navigation buttons for a better Mac OS X experience.
Macintosh Explorer is US$15. Upgrades from previous versions are $6.95 (but it’s a free update to owners of version 2.x). A site license is $499.95 ($399.95 academic) and a worldwide license is $899.95 ($799.95 academic). It can be downloaded from the Rage Software Web site.
