The use of the Euro as standard currency in European nations took effect on Jan. 1, and support for it is now included in
products such as MYOB AccountEdge for the Mac.
Multiple currency accounting in MYOB products includes the automatic posting and calculating of both realized and unrealized gains and losses, the tracking of exchange rates at the transaction level, easy reconciliation of foreign currency accounts or local accounts containing foreign currencies, and the easy inclusion of currency transaction fees, said company spokesperson Jennifer Lee. Multiple currency accounting was introduced in MYOB products in 1999 and has remained a popular feature since.
