The third maintenance release for Portraits & Print, the personal photo studio for Mac OS X, is now available from Econ Technologies.
Portraits & Prints is a photo printing solution that stores image enhancements for use at any time without ever touching the original image. It works with Mac OS X’s Image Capture to automatically download pictures from digital cameras and open them in Portraits and Prints.
The 1.0.4 update includes some tweaks and fixes designed to make it work better with iPhoto, according to Joseph Japes of Econ Technologies. Also, recently more layout templates were added to the Portraits & Prints Template Exchange, which can be found at Econ’s Web site. The Exchange lets you expand your template collection at no cost. You can download templates and modify them with the Portraits & Prints Template Maker.
Portraits & Prints Template Maker creates custom photo layouts for use in the application. This companion application can be used to place any size photo, imports graphics and can add text to templates.
Portraits & Prints costs US$19.95 and the Template Maker costs $9.95 for electronic downloads from Econ Technologies. Free demo versions are also available.
Portraits & Prints is a native Cocoa Mac OS X application designed to take advantage of Mac OS X system features, Japes said. The only requirements for Portraits & Prints is Mac OS X or later and a color printer.
