Seapine Software Inc. has announced the release of TestTrack Pro 4.5. The software’s server component is now shipping for the first time for Mac OS X. The company bills the software as “an enterprise-level, Web-based defect management solution.”
TestTrack Pro 4.5 enables software development companies to track bugs. The software provides mechanisms to help developers, testers, managers, tech writers and even sales and marketing staff to observe and assist in bug control. TestTrack Pro integrates with other companies’ source code control systems.
Seapine president Richard Riccetti said that TestTrack Pro 4.5’s release on Mac OS X continues a trend of enterprise-level products migrating to the new platform. The software also runs natively on Windows, Solaris and Linux platforms.
“TestTrack Pro 4.5’s core strengths of ease of use and low maintenance are right at home on Mac OS X,” said Riccetti.
So far, TestTrack Pro 4.5’s Mac OS X implementation is on the server side only. The company also offers a client application whose use is presently restricted to Windows, but this isn’t as big a limitation as you might think, since TestTrack Pro 4.5 uses a Web browser-driven end user interface that’ll work on any platform.
License costs depend on the number of users, with licensing starting at US$299 per seat for the Web client. More details, including a link to a free evaluation version, is available online.
