The 2002 Game Developers Conference takes place in March, but early registration — which can result in discounts of up to 30 percent, depending on the package you choose — will end on February 6.
The annual gathering brings video and computer game developers from around the world to the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA. This year’s event takes place from March 19 – 23.
Game Developer magazine, publisher of the Gama Network, produces the event. The Game Developers Conference gathers game makers in more than 300 lectures, tutorials, keynotes and roundtable discussions to help trade information about the art, craft, science and business of video game making. An exhibit hall area also helps game developers get their hands on the latest tools of the trade, as well as talk with their peers at other companies.
Special events at this year’s show include the 4th Annual Independent Game Festival, where non-professionally published game developers get to show their wares — including a Mac game maker, Flying Mikros Interactive (with their offbeat title The Egg Files); the Game Developers Choice Awards; and new for this year, the Wireless Game Summit.
More information about the event is available from the Web site.
