DigArts Software’s newest tool does for tree trunks and branches what Jungle 3D does for foliage, according to President Dennis Berkla.
Tree Forestry is a new set of Painter tools that paint over forty different species of tree trunks, limbs and branches. These pattern tools actually paint dimensional, fully textured trunks, branches, splits and barks with a simple brush stroke, Berkla said. They’re scalable and have bark textures that conform to the direction of the artist’s brush stroke. Tree Forestry contains over 200 trunk, branch and hollow patterns, as well as paper textures, brushes and more.
“It lets artists paint realistic trunk and branching systems with the same ease and speed that Jungle 3D paints complex foliage structures,” Berkla said. “When used together, artists can create highly dimensional, photo-realistic trees and foliage onscreen in just minutes.”
Painter is a cross-platform (including Mac OS X) application that offers advanced Natural-Media painting and image editing capabilities. It comes from procreate, Corel’s new branding for a line of products for creative professionals.
For the rest of the month, Tree Forestry and Jungle 3D are available for US$109, through DigArts’ “made for each other” bundle. Normally, they’re $69.96 each. For details go to the Tree Forestry Web site.
