Hal Capraro of the Visual Art Department, Yucaipa High School, Yucaipa, CA, needs your help. He’s trying to start a video production class at the high school for the next school year. However, the district has a very strong anti-Mac bias.
“I’ve already been granted $10k as seed money to get started, with as much as another $22k made available by the end of this school year in June,” Capraro told MacCentral. “The class will definitely be offered next year.”
He wants the class to be Mac-based. He say’s if can present a compelling case that using Macs would prepare students to be able to step right into industry jobs, school officials might be persuaded to run the new class on the Apple platform.
“I would need to show that a significant number, meaning vast majority, of companies and institutions of higher learning/training are using Macs,” Capraro said. “Articles, prominent industry individuals, referrals, testimonials, etc. that speak to the preferred use of Apple over Wintel would be most helpful.”
