Seybold Seminars promoters Key3Media Group, Inc. has announced that Corel Corp. CEO Derek Burney will be giving one of several keynote addresses during next month’s show in New York. Burney is the latest publishing industry luminary to join the lineup, which also includes executives from Hewlett-Packard, Adobe and more.
Burney’s keynote address will take place on Wednesday, February 20. Entitled “Leading the Smart Content Revolution: The Impact of XML on the Enterprise,” the lunchtime keynote will focus on the increased use of XML technology in enterprise publishing and content creation.
Burney explained that today’s solutions limit users with proprietary applications and closed standards — restrictions that Corel proposes to overcome through the use of XML. “XML is the catalyst for a revolution in the way that organizations create, interact and exchange digital content,” said Burney.
