With high-speed Internet all the rage these days, it’s nice to know that some Internet service providers haven’t forgotten those of us without broadband, or lost their senses of humor. Mac-friendly ISP NineWire Digital Solutions recently announced its “RetroSpeed” Nationwide 56k dialup service.
The company boldly proclaimed its new service “will make the big boys quake in their boots.” NineWire CEO Jesse Williams-Proudman explained that the service is oriented towards users who are looking for affordability and convenience when it comes to dialup-based Internet access.
“Our National Dialup completes our suite of Internet services for our hosting customers, many of whom already have Broadband, but need a solution for when they travel,” said Williams-Proudman.
The service includes 3 e-mail addresses, nationwide access to local dialup points of presence, newsgroup access, Web-based e-mail access, 24/7 e-mail support, and, perhaps most importantly for MacCentral readers, service through a Mac oriented provider.
NineWire’s Nationwide Dialup is US$14.99 a month. NineWire also offers Mac Web hosting, domain registration, and co-location services. The company was founded in 1997.
