CineWave 2.1, the latest version of the editing and compositing application, is now available from Pinnacle Systems. The new version adds uncompressed real-time power to the new Three-Way Color Correction capability of Apple’s Final Cut Pro 3, as well as real-time Chroma Keying with spill suppression and color correction filters.
What’s more, CineWave provides unlimited layering, effects, advanced non-linear editing, motion tracking, paint and compositing tools. CineWave RT includes a full version of Final Cut Pro 3, Commotion Pro 4, Knoll Light Factory, TARGA Cine Engine and CineWave RT software.
CineWave provides a variety of editing capabilities for acquisition, post-production, and delivery in most any format, including: DV, DigiBeta, uncompressed 601, PAL, NTSC, 1080i, 1080p, 4:3, 16:9, DVD, and Web. There are two Digital Tether ports for connecting to a family of SD and HD breakout boxes.
CineWave offers support for the expansive I/O offerings of the new Pinnacle Pro Digital & Analog Breakout Box, including true 10-bit Component sampling and 10-bit SDI for improved image quality. The new breakout box provides an all-in-one I/O solution for video, according to Andrew Baum, Pinnacle’s senior product manager for CineWave.
Though Cinewave 2.1 isn’t Mac OS X native yet, Pinnacle plans such a version in an upcoming free upgrade. Meanwhile, the current update is a free software upgrade for existing customers. Real-time effects require the CineWave RT software upgrade.
