On Jan. 28, the second annual iMovieFest was held at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. See our previous report for details on the event’s history.
For iMovieFest 2002, 40 residence halls, comprised of 20 to 40 students each, created short movies in five days using a Canon DV camcorder, iMovie and an iMac or iBook. iMovieNite, in which the results were showcased, featured a live student band, Saint Jude, along with a huge Skytracker spotlight and red carpets. Over 1,100 students, staff and community members attended the show and experienced what can happen when students use Apple technologies, according to David Roemer, an Emory business school student. He and his friend, Dan Costa, are the co-creators of iMovieFest.
“Their creativity was unleashed and the results were amazing,” he told MacCentral.
What’s more, the movies are now online for all to see. For more info, e-mail Roemer or Costa and the Apple Student Core @ Emory.
