Totally Hip Software is adding support for Zoomify within their LiveStage Professional product.
LiveStage Professional is Totally Hip’s QuickTime authoring environment software. Zoomify is designed to enhance basic browser imaging capabilities to deliver compelling imaging features in an easy-to-navigate interface. It brings a unique image streaming technology to QuickTime 5 that enables rapid initial display of images and on-demand viewing of fine details, regardless of image size, according to David Gratton, Totally Hip’s vice president of marketing and sales.
The folks at Zoomify plan to “free the pixels” with their technology that the company says makes ordinary images stream so Web surfers can interactively zoom-in and explore images in real-time without large downloads or long waits. David Urbanic, Zoomify’s founder and president, told MacCentral that no special development, server or client software is required. Zoomify’s unique Web-based imaging services make “zoomifying” images drag-and-drop simple, he says.
With its new QuickTime component, users can interactively explore high-resolution images over the Internet. Even viewers with dial-up connections can quickly view Zoomify images. Zoomify’s support for QuickTime wired actions has enabled Totally Hip Software to integrate the Zoomify format with over 200 other media types and formats including video, VR and Flash, Gratton said.
“Zoomify is an amazing addition to LiveStage Professional’s tool kit,” he added. “It is going to impact directly on how images, and especially QTVR are used for business and education on the Internet.”
To support the new Zoomify wired actions, Totally Hip Software will be providing all registered LiveStage Professional 3.0 developers with a free upgrade and a special offer to purchase the Zoomify authoring software with a discount of $100 off the standard price.
