Hey, developers: the Seventh Annual Apple Design Awards will concentrate exclusively on Mac OS X. The Apple Design Awards, in Apple’s words, will “recognize innovation, advanced Mac OS X look and feel, use of Apple technologies in our developers’ Mac OS X-based products, and new, exciting, and high quality product entries to the Mac OS X market.” Five Apple Design Award winners and five runners-up will be announced in the categories of Best New Mac OS X Product, Most Innovative Mac OS X Product, Best Mac OS X User Experience, Mac OS X Technology Adoption, and Best Mac OS X Student Product.
The top prize is an “ultimate” Power Mac G4 and Apple Cinema Display. Winners will also get a trophy and the right to use the associated prize logo to market their products. Runners-up will receive an award, as well as the right to use the associated prize logo to market their products.
The deadline for entries is April 5. This year there’s also a new Student Category; the deadline for it is March 1. Complete details can be found at the Apple Design Awards Web site.
