DragThing 4.2.1, the twenty-first release of TLA Systems’ dock application for Mac OS X and earlier, is now available.
The latest update of “the original dock designed to tidy up your Macintosh desktop”is ready to download now in English, Japanese, German, French and Italian language versions.
“This is a maintenance release of DragThing to fix the slowdown and long pauses occasionally seen when switching applications with CarbonLib 1.5 installed,” James Thomson of TLA Systems said. “The fix doesn’t affect Mac OS X directly, but you may see a little improvement there, too.”
Otherwise it is the same as the previous version, 4.2, which introduced:
native Quartz graphics support on Mac OS X, including dock translucency;
support for putting the Trash back on the Finder desktop;
more control over window layering;
and support for many of the new Mac OS X technologies.
Version 4.2.1 is a free update for registered users of DragThing 4, US $10 for registered users of previous versions, and $25 for new users. Competitive upgrades of $19 are offered to users of Aladdin DragStrip 3 and PowerOn ACTION GoMac 2.
DragThing is a Carbon application that runs natively on Mac OS X, as well as on Mac OS 8.6 and 9 with CarbonLib 1.1 or later installed.
