American Hangman 1.0 released
Space-Time Associates has announced the release of American Hangman 1.0, an educational game based on the classic Hangman word guessing game. It merges data incorporated into two earlier Space-Time Associates releases: Presidents3000 and States3000.
Atlas: The Gift of Aramai 1.1.1 released
Freeverse Software has released a new version of Atlas: The Gift of Aramai, the role-playing game. New changes include some Creature balancing, new underworld battle zones, a new exit portal in the Library, some dialog updates, and various other changes.
Brickles3000 1.01 released
Space-Time Associates has announced the release of Brickles3000, an updated version of the classic brickbashing game. The game sports customizable colors and patters, adjustable ball and paddle sizes, and many other configuration options. The update adds new ways to earn extra balls and other tweaks.
Candy Cruncher headed for Mac
Pyrogon, Inc. is working on a Mac OS X version of its Windows puzzle game Candy Cruncher. In Candy Cruncher, you must move around the board and complete rows or columns of identical candies in order to score points and proceed.
Harpoon3 updated
Jesse Spears has released a new version of Harpoon3 for Classic and Mac OS X. Harpoon3 is the naval warfare simulation game that puts you in the control room of a modern warship.
Starcraft 1.09 released
Blizzard Entertainment has released a new patch to their popular real time strategy game Starcraft. The new version, 1.09, is now available for download when you log on to Blizzard’s Battle.net online game servers.
Elsewhere on the Web
Inside Mac Games has conducted a brief interview with Steve Jobs to talk about games, while MacGamer.com has put together a feature called FPS Essentials: Quake III Arena, which talks about the best add-ons for the popular game. Skewed Perspective focuses specifically on MacPlay. And Apple has posted info about Return to Castle Wolfenstein, as well as an iDisk copy of the 385MB+ Lineage: The Blood Pledge open beta for Mac OS X.
Closer to home
MacPlay announced that both Icewind Dale and realMYST have gone beta and are expected to ship in March. MacPlay also has published new updates for Giants: Citizen Kabuto and Aliens Vs. Predator Gold Edition. There’s news from Fileball.net about the addition of two new archives dedicated to Red Faction and Starcraft. Nvidia has unveiled its new GeForce4 processor line, and we’ve taken a closer look at the hardware and even took photos from the event. Speaking of GeForce4, players looking for maximum performance can order a Power Mac G4 with a graphics card based on the new hardware, as well. NCSoft announced the release of the open beta for Lineage: The Blood Pledge and more.
