SRTransport 5.1, with improved JDBC connectivity and new pricing, is now available from Schema Research Corp.
SRTransport is designed to bring data manipulation capabilities into a user interface, to avoid programming against interfaces such as Oracle’s OCI, Sybase’s CTLIB or to XML and JDBC libraries, etc., yet still take advantage of the features available in those APIs (application programming interfaces).
The application moves data records and transforms them, allowing an organization to share data between applications and databases. Version 5.1 offers better connectivity through improved JDBC support, according to the folks at Schema.
Two new JDBC drivers have been tested and proved compatible. SRTransport now supports drivers connecting to Oracle, Sybase, SqlServer, OpenBase, FrontBase, PostgreSql, MySQL and Pervasive. Using Merrant/DataDirect drivers and EasySoft JDBC/ODBC bridge drivers, several other databases are accessible.
The new pricing model splits the SRTransportES server out from SRTransport. The latter, priced at less than half its previous cost, provides the same interactive data handling capabilities. The SRTransportES server, sold separately, is priced to scale with customer requirements. Schema Research also licenses its products for embedded applications.
SRTransport is available for Mac OSX 10.1. Demo versions are available for download.
