Writing for Apple’s Games site, Brad Cook has done a profile of Mac shareware powerhouse Ambrosia Software in a new feature article entitled Like Manna: Games from Ambrosia Software on Mac OS X.
The article profiles Ambrosia’s recent efforts, including David Wareing’s latest arcade-style effort Deimos Rising and the Beenox Studios-developed Pillars of Garendall, the first Ambrosia RPG crafted using the Coldstone Game Engine, which enterprising game makers can inexpensively license and use to create their own titles.
Ambrosia boss Andrew Welch talked with Cook about Mac OS X itself, which he called “a dream.” Welch told Cook that OS X works well for Ambrosia both as a supported game-playing environment and as a development environment.
Cook also zeroed in on Ambrosia title in development that’s been anxiously awaited for quite some time by many Mac gamers: Escape Velocity Nova, the latest game to wear the mantle of the long-running open ended Ambrosia space action/adventure game franchise.
