4ee4 today announced the release of MySQLConnect for 4D version 1.0.4. The new build adds support for Mac OS X.
MySQLConnect for 4D is a plug-in designed to work with 4th Dimension, the popular database software. The plug-in provides connectivity between 4D, 4D Server, 4D Runtime, 4D Runtime Classic, and 4D Engine-based applications and database servers which use MySQL. MySQL is a popular open source relational database management system that runs on a variety of platforms (including Mac OS X).
With MySQLConnect for 4D, developers can use 4D to manage:
4ee4 noted that MySQLConnect doesn’t depend on any external libraries to work with MySQL database servers. The software only works with 4D 6.7, and supports both “Classic” Mac OS and Mac OS X, as well as Windows.
4ee4 noted that MySQLConnect is the first release in a suite of new data management 4D plug-ins coming from the company and Exenevex, SA.
