InfoCase, the folks who make a range of carrying case solutions, have developed a version of their ClassMate “Always On” carry case for the iBook to accommodate the new 14-inch model.
“The iBook case for the new 14-inch model will, overall, have the same look and feel as its predecessor,” John Matthews of InfoCase told MacCentral. “We designed the case slightly wider to accommodate the change in screen size.”
The Always On case is designed to stay on your laptop all the time. All of your iBook’s operational features are fully accessible when the case is open for use. The laptop’s front, left and right sides are exposed when the case lid opens with the computer screen. The two padded rear flaps let you plug cables into the laptop.
The Always On is designed to serve as a protective second skin. It has a contoured “easy-grip” handle and an adjustable shoulder strap. Outside pockets are specially designed to provide organized storage for needed accessories such as adapters and power cords. A raised, high-grip rubber strip on the underside of the case helps keep the laptop from sliding or being pulled off classroom desktops. Two-inch deep protective case sidewalls surrounding the screen not only protect but also provide some side angle privacy and glare reduction.
The Accessory Pocket provides 12 x 9 x 1.25 inches storage capacity. The extended top flap allows deeper items like a tablet or folder to be stored. There’s a zippered pouch on the face of the Accessory Pocket for disks, CD’s, pens, etc. It’s available for ordering now on the InfoCase Web site. It has a manufacturer’s list price of US$69.95.
