Pindar Systems announced today that its new Agility Catalog Commerce Server features full support for Adobe InDesign 2.0.
Agility, which is being previewed at this week’s Seybold Seminars conference in New York, is a Java, J2EE-compliant Web application server architecture designed to assist companies develop catalogs and promotions across print, online and supply chain channels.
Pindar noted that it is building support for Adobe InDesign 2.0 into Agility’s initial release to give customers “a robust new choice in cross-media page design.”
Agility also features support for Acrobat via the Agility PDF Generator, which automates the creation and distribution of interim PDF page and promotions proofs among work groups, as well as final high-res PDF output.
Pindar noted that Liverpool, UK-based retailer Littlewoods plc is the first retailer to use Agility and InDesign to produce its catalogs. Additionally, US office products retailer Office Depot is one of Pindar’s principal partners as it moves into final beta development of Agility.
Pindar Systems expects to release the Agility Catalog Commerce Server in the second quarter of 2002.
