Warlord has announced the release of Tresor 2.0.1, a new version of its file and folder encryption utility for the Macintosh. The software now offers integrated data compression and filter functions, thus allowing the automation of complex encryption tasks.
Tresor is built around IDEA (International Data Encryption Algorithm). The block encryption algorithm uses data blocks of 64 bits and a key length of 128 bits. It was developed at the Institute for Signal and Information Processing for the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich.
Tresor 2.0.1 is available in separate downloads for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, and has been localized for English, German and Spanish languages. The software can be freely downloaded, but it costs €25 per copy to register. Volume discounts are available for 4 copies and up.
