Media Metastasis and Tubatomic Studio, best known for their ZyGoVideo and MovTV products, have formed an alliance to promote unique QuickTime features to customers.
ZyGoVideo is a codec for QuickTime and QuickTime Pro that compresses and decompresses video files to deliver broadcast-quality video at lower transmission speeds. It can compress smooth running video at 28.8 kbps and 56 kbps in real-time.
“ZyGovideo rivals Windows Media and Real quality at streaming rates without dropping frames,” Rod Sheffield, president and CEO of Media Metastasis, said. “Version 1.2 [released earlier this month] is more stable during playback, especially for multiple videos played at once. ZyGoVideo Pro Version 1.2 is also designed for a smaller memory footprint. Changes made for Version 1.2 improve compression and playback speed, allowing less powerful machines to compress video content in real time, and less powerful machines to play back larger bitrate videos.”
Tubatomic provides a playback environment for video ads, commercials and audio. ZyGoVideo will provide the technology to keep the video to the smallest possible footprint while providing the best visual quality, Sheffield said. The combination of these two company’s technologies will allow customers to create a “compelling QuickTime sales solutions,” he added.
