FileMaker Pro’s use for the entertainment industry is going to be profiled in a new showcase coming to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel next month. The event has been co-sponsored by FileMaker Inc. and the database consulting firm d-Werks.
The database software has been put to good use by Hollywood over the years; the event’s sponsors note that E! Entertainment, “Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius,” “Titanic,” and “countless other film productions and TV game shows” have used the software.
The showcase itself will feature a variety of live product demonstrates which highlight FileMaker Pro’s ability to provide customer relationship management, asset management, job tracking, resource scheduling, equipment rentals, studio management and other functions relevant to the entertainment community.
The show’s sponsors will demonstrate new FileMaker Pro 5.5 features including like two-way ODBC support, record-level security and Instant Web Publishing; FileMaker will also preview FileMaker Mobile 2 for Palm-compatible PDAs — which it expects to release in May. Attendees will also get a free preview FileMaker Mobile 2 CD-ROM.
The event happens from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, March 14, 2002. Users interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP at 760.789.9429.
