The protectors simply lie atop the keyboard and act as a buffer between the keys and the LCD panel. The protectors prevent residue on the keys from marking the surface of the screen when the 14.1-inch iBook’s lid is closed.
The protectors are available in two different versions: a leather edition that costs US$12.49, and a vinyl version that retails for $6.99. Both are shipping now.
The new Screen Protectors join other protectors for other PowerBook and iBook models already in production, along with JR Hill & Co.’s full line of leather goods — including PowerBook G4 Sleeves, iPod Sleeves and other accessories.
