Chaparral Software & Consulting Service has updated Brushfire, its cross-reference and reporting tool that allows FileMaker Pro users to analyze scripts. The company also released a “lite” version.
The update adds the following features: a single screen setup interface for both Mac and Windows systems; a Script Search that finds any text in any script line; displaying of search results in a permanent list; separate reports for Script Errors and Calls to Missing Files; a change in the Halt Statement report that shows all scripts using the Halt command; a layout dependent script steps report (and the ability to delete it); identification of platform dependent script steps; identification of SQL statement script; and identification of empty string test (null test) script steps identified
Brushfire Lite, a $79.95 simplified version of its big brother, is also available for download. It enjoys the same fast analysis engine used by Brushfire, and provides complete script cross references, exposes all script details including embedded finds, imports, sort orders and more, according to Russell Kohn of Chaparral.
“Brushfire Lite is appropriate for intermediate FileMaker Pro users who are learning to write more complicated scripts within smaller scale solutions,” he said. “Brushfire Lite may also be useful to more advanced users who wish to experiment with Brushfire on a small project before purchasing the full version.”
A demo version of Brushfire 1.5 is available; the cost for the full version is US$249.95.
