The folks at Cyber 3, who make handles for iBooks and PowerBooks, have added some new products to their product line.
Cyber 3 is offering USB Pen Drives in capacities ranging from 16MB to 1GB. These are not bootable drives, but are designed for moving data around. The size of a disposable lighter, they’re both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X compatible and are cross-platform with no drivers needed or formatting required. Pricing ranges from US$29 for the 16MB model to $825 for the 1GB version.
“We also have a program for tradeshow vendors that allows them to get these drives at really great prices that include Private Labeling (their own logos/message) on the enclosure and any data that they wish to have pre-installed so they can give show attendees the most useable and sensible tradeshow give-away that there is,” Peter Lock of Cyber3 told MacCentral. “And the vendor’s name is always in front of the users for much longer periods time and seen by vast numbers of other folks whenever the Pen Drive is being used.”
Cyber 3 also has a new 5-in-1 USB Combo Card Reader/Writer that’s multi-platform and can read a number of different cards. The $35 device reads SmartMedia cards (up to 128MB), Type I/II CompactFlash cards, IBM Micro Drives, MultiMedia cards (up to 64MB per card), and Secured Digital cards. It has an active LED that indicates power and read/write operation. The KTI Networks 5-in-1 USB Combo Card Reader/Writer requires Mac OS 8.6 or higher.
Cyber 3 has also lowered the price on the iBook Tote & Tilt attachable handle to US$29.95. Sales of the handles are “going great,” Lock said.
