Paradigma Software, makers of the Valentina database kernel, has released Valentina Technology Release 1.8.10 that provides database tools for Mac OS X native application developers.
The new Mac OS X features includes support for both C++ and Object-C development using Apple’s Project Builder and the Valentina C++ SDK. Plus, Valentina for Java is now compatible with Java implementations under Mac OS X, according to MacTech magazine .
The general technology release also adds additional SQL support for: CREATE TABLE, DROP TABLE, ALTER TABLE, INSERT INTO, INSERT … SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE, and CONVERT RDBLINK. CONVERT RDBLINK provides an SQL interface for automatically converting RDBMS-kind links into Valentina ObjectPtr links. Valentina for Macromedia Director developers also gain new utility commands: GetRecordAsPropList(), IsNull(), SetIsNull().
All Valentina products are based on the Valentina database kernel. Valentina solutions are available for most development environments, including REAL Software’s REALbasic, Macromedia Director, Metrowerks CodeWarrior, Microsoft C++ , Purity Software’s WebSiphon, Visual Basic, Deplhi and Java.
Current owners of Valentina 1.x SDKs can upgrade for free to the current version of their SDKs (software developer kits) with Technology Release 1.8.10.
