of Victory-Heart Productions has announced the final release of Active4D 2.0. It’s a dynamic server-side embedded scripting language for 4th Dimension, which the developer says provides similar functionality as Microsoft’s Active Server Pages to 4D.
Features in Active4D include:
A ready to run HTTP server with virtual hosting and advanced security features
A fully dynamic embedded scripting engine which executes real 4D code
Over 200 new web-focused commands
Automatic session support
Transparent cookie and file upload support
A host of both client-side and server-side debugging tools
Changes to the new version of Active4D include “numerous bug fixes and enhancements,” according to the developer, along with an updated 300 page PDF reference manual.
If you want to kick the tires before you put down your money, you can

first. It expires after one hour of continuous use.
Active4D costs US$99 per developer, per platform for the developer license. Deployment licenses run $700 per server for the first year and $270 per year to renew. Deployment licenses also include support and upgrades. OEM and volume pricing is also available. It runs on Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows 95 or better.
