Adobe Systems Inc. today announced the immediate availability of GoLive 6.0 and LiveMotion 2.0.
Adobe’s Web development tool GoLive 6.0 now ships with Web Workgroup Server, a site management and collaboration tool. Using Web Workgroup Server, teams of users can track changes, share and manage files. Web Workgroup Server offers version control and side-by-side comparison features, and it supports any WebDAV-enabled application, including Adobe’s own Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, as well as Macromedia Dreamweaver.

GoLive 6.0 adds wireless authoring capabilities, as well. The new version now enables developers to support XHTML, CHTML and WML.
A full QuickTime 5.0 editing environment is also new to this release. The editing features include streaming conversion and optimization capabilities. If you are developing dynamic content that depends on scripting languages, GoLive 6.0 also sports support for PHP, ASP and JSP.
GoLive 6.0 runs natively on Mac OS 9.1, 9.2 and Mac OS X 10.1 and is available in Canada and the US for US$399; registered users of GoLive can upgrade for $99.
LiveMotion is Adobe’s Web graphics and Flash animation tool, and the new version increases integration with other Adobe products like Photoshop, GoLive and After Effects. LiveMotion 2.0 also features an enhanced timeline model.
Adobe said that the new version of LiveMotion also sports full ActionScript support, enabling designers and developers who work with Flash to fit LiveMotion more easily into their existing workflows. JavaScript support also enables LiveMotion 2.0 to be automated and extended; a new feature called Live Tabs can help users build custom tools to help streamline repetitive tasks with a minimum of coding effort. Scripting tools in LiveMotion 2.0 include features like syntax coloring, code management, search and replace, an integrated preview mode and a source-level script debugger.
LiveMotion 2.0 for Mac OS runs natively in Mac OS 9.1, 9.2 and Mac OS X 10.1. The estimated street price for LiveMotion 2.0 is US$399; a limited time introductory price of $199 is also available. A bundle with GoLive 6.0 is available for $449.
