Lineage is already a phenomenon in Korea and Japan, netting hundreds of thousands of simultaneous players and millions of subscribers. To find the game a home in the US, NCSoft has recruited none other than Richard Garriott, the man who invented the legendary computer role-playing game franchise known as Ultima.
Lineage normally requires a monthly subscription in order to play, but right now NCSoft is offering Mac gamers a free look at a playable beta version of the game for Mac OS X, which you can download from iDisk or order a CD copy to have mailed to you.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. If the screenshots aren’t enough, Apple is also featuring a QuickTime movie trailer of Lineage in action, so check it out.
