SimpleTech — which offers a full line of high-quality CompactFlash, MultiMediaCards, SmartMedia and Secure Digital cards — are showcasing an array of high-density flash memory and storage solutions, as well as unveiling new products for photographers, at this week’s Photo Marketing Association (PMA) trade show in Orlando, Florida.
The company will unveil a new line of keychain-sized flash readers at the show. The FlashLink readers will accommodate the full line of flash cards available and are designed to simplify the storage and transfer of images, music and data between digital cameras, video cameras, MP3 players and desktop or notebook computers.
They’re compatible with Mac OS 8.1 and higher (including Mac OS X) and plug directly into any USB port. The FlashLink readers provide data transfer rates of up to 30 times faster than standard serial connections or floppy disks, according to Dave Abbott, SimpleTech’s flash product marketing manager.
Flash memory is non-volatile memory that can be erased and reprogrammed in units of memory called blocks.
No word yet on pricing for the FlashLink readers.
