Roxio and Audible — an online provider of premium, spoken word audio — have partnered to add CD burning functionality to Audible’s premier audio service, as well as to distribute and market the Audible service via Roxio’s retail and Web distribution channels.
Starting in the second quarter of the year, customers will be able to burn CDs of Audible’s downloadable spoken audio titles, with content ranging from audio editions of The New York Times, Scientific American, Forbes and Fast Company, to original programming from Robin Williams, to best-selling audiobooks by John Grisham, Stephen King, Anne Rice, Stephen Ambrose and other authors.
Audible has more than 32,000 hours of audio programs and 150 content partners that include leading audiobook publishers, broadcasters, entertainers, magazine and newspaper publishers and business information providers. Audible.com is Amazon.com’s exclusive provider of spoken word products for downloading or streaming via the Web.
