The Lanier 2145 outputs 45 black and white pages per minutes and can achieve a first print speed of 5.9 seconds. It can hold up to 3,550 sheets, and supports an optional hard drive to buffer spooling and collating work. Users can also choose from 1,000 or 3,000 sheet finishers for sorting, stapling and three-hole punching.
The Lanier 2145 supports all major networking protocols, including AppleTalk and TCP/IP, and is compatible with Windows, Mac OS, UNIX, and AS/400. It supports PCL 5e/6, Adobe PostScript 3 and RPCS as well. The Lanier 2145 is compatible with Mac OS 8.6 or later, and works with Mac OS X in Classic. The company told MacCentral that OS X drivers are currently in development, though no release schedule is yet available.
