If you’re interested in finding out how to use the Coldstone gaming engine to craft your own titles, you might want to fire up an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) client on Thursday afternoon.
Coldstone is a game engine that’s already been used to craft a role-playing adventure game published by Ambrosia Software called Pillars of Garendall. The company makes the underlying engine, Coldstone, available for download and use, to help encourage enterprising gamers to make their own titles using the technology. Coldstone runs on Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.
Ambrosia Software and Beenox’s Dee Brown, creator of Coldstone, will be online this Thursday to discuss Coldstone during a live question and answer session. To participate, use your IRC software to connect to Ambrosia’s IRC server — irc.ambrosia.net — and join channel #coldstone. The event kicks off at 4:00 pm ET on Thursday, March 7.
