MPEG2Splitter, a utility for MPEG-2 movies, has been updated to version 1.3 by JAW software, a company that develops consumer and custom business software for the Mac. MPEG2Splitter is now Carbonized and works natively in Mac OS X or Mac OS 9 (with the CarbonLib extensions installed).
JAW MPEG2Splitter splits MPEG-2 files in smaller user-defined segments, manually or automatically, from any size source — even over the usual 2GB limit, according to company reps. This is useful when you need to re-encode video using programs that can’t manage files bigger than this — or when you simply need to split encoding tasks.
With version 1.3, Help is now served using the Apple Help Viewer (in Mac OS X) or your Web browser of choice (under Mac OS 9). In addition to one of these operating systems, you’ll need 3.5MB of available memory
You can download MPEG2Splitter 1.3 from the JAW Web site. You can use it for 15 days free; after this registration is US$15.
