After a few weeks of “beta testing,” Mac radio host Shawn King is officially launching Your Mac Life this evening. The Internet radio show about all things Mac will be broadcast from Music City itself (Nashville, TN), home of the show sponsors: Griffin Technology and Marathon Computers.
“Your Mac Life is a unique opportunity to get news, information and entertainment on and about your favorite computer in a way that is fun, interactive and easy,” host/producer King said.
The show is broadcast in QuickTime each Wednesday from 6-8 pm (Pacific). Listeners can participate live in the show through two separate chat rooms, by sending Shawn e-mail he reads live on the air, or by calling the toll free number. If you can’t catch the live show, there’s a free archive available shortly after the show goes off the air.
This week’s featured guest is Rob “CmdrTaco” Malda, found of the “News for Nerds” Web site, Slashdot. Slashdot has recently added an Apple focus, and Maldo will take about this addition — and what true geeks think about Mac OS X.
Another guest will be Eric Wittman, Macromedia’s director of product management, who will be on hand to talk about Flash MX. See Monday’s article for details on the product. My MacCentral compadre and gaming guru, Peter Cohen, will talk with Dallas Dickinson, producer for Sony’s Station.com site. Sony has made the site Mac compatible, and Dickinson will discuss this. Also present for tonight’s Your Mac Life will be Chuck Joiner of The Mug Center, a resource for Mac user groups. Supposedly, he has a big announcement regarding MUGs.
Griffin Technology and CompanyStuff.com will be giving away prizes, as well. By the way, the aforementioned chat rooms are on the World Without Borders site or on the Dal.Net servers on IRC in the #yourmaclife Channel.
